Night Parrots had not been seen alive for about 100 years until their rediscovery in 2013. The Night Parrot is an elusive bird that inhabits spinifex country in central Australia. The bird occurs at Pullen Pullen, a Bush Heritage Reserve in western Queensland. Populations have also been recently confirmed from Western Australia.
This painting was done initially as one of the plates for Australian Parrots (1980) by J.M. Forshaw & William T. Cooper.
